Genesis 22:1-14

I. The Test Involves Our Preparation. v. 1-2

A. The Promise Tested.

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty

years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not

you would keep his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2

B. A Perplexing Test.

1. It was Costly.

2. It was Confusing.

But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to

the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” II Samuel 24:24
