ABRAHAM: PERSISTENCE IN PRAYER II

Genesis 18:16-33

I. ABRAHAM WAS A DELIGHT TO GOD.

  A. God delights in His children asking.

    Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.  Matthew 7:7-8 

    This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. I John 5:14

 B. Persistent prayer requires faith.

II. ABRAHAM DEMONSTRATES SINCERITY. 

III. PERESISTENCE DEVELOPS OUR FAITH. 

IV. PERSISTENCE DELIVERS OUR DESIRE.

    Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4

    So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.  Genesis 19:29
